A little bit more information for those who like the detail, as I do.
I grew up in New Zealand and moved to Australia when I was 19. My earlier career involved operational management roles and during that time I experienced many changes in my life and health including becoming a mother and trying to achieve my best both at work and home, while dealing with chronic fatigue and weight issues. I did not understand why I could achieve success in other areas of my life but couldn’t lose weight despite trying what felt like all the diets in existence. Why couldn’t I have good energy, balance my hormones and be free from debilitating fatigue?
Ultimately, I found my way to a Naturopath and started learning that there was a different way to approach my health. The knowledge I gained and the changes I experienced eventually led me to making the jump to study Naturopathy myself. I completed my four-year Health Science degree with Torrens University in Sydney and established New Beginnings Naturopathy.
The sense of purpose and joy I feel being able to help others to resolve their own health issues is worth making such a big life change.
My approach to treatment is to combine the best of cutting-edge science in the field of functional, nutrigenomic and energetic medicine with the long-established traditions of holistic Naturopathic medicine. I have an integrative mindset and will always consider any other treatments you might be receiving when I make my recommendations. I pride myself on being realistic about what people can incorporate into their lives, focusing on sustainable and achievable changes to diet and lifestyle. The Naturopathic toolbox has a wide range of powerful personalised herbal medicines, nutritional supplements and flower essences that I will prescribe as appropriate to further support you in achieving your health goals.
I am based in Newcastle, NSW however my Telehealth (video chat) consultations are available throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Naturopathy is a holistic functional approach to medicine encompassing the physical, mental, and emotional dimensions of health. Naturopaths seek to understand the root cause of a condition. Education, support, and empowerment form the basis of treatment with a client centred focus seeking to create an environment where each person can regain their health and vibrancy.
Naturopathic medicine has its roots in Europe, born in the 16th and 17th centuries with deep traditional knowledge and practices. Today in Australia the gold standard of education for Naturopaths is a 4-year Bachelor level health science degree. Naturopaths are educated in the human bodies’ physiology and pathophysiology within a biomedical framework and a strong evidence-based practice focus. Naturopaths are then taught how to apply herbal medicine, nutrition, nutraceuticals and flower essences to a wide variety of conditions. With safety as a core principle, treatment plans will be cross checked with pharmaceutical medications and communication with other practitioners will occur when required in an appropriate and professional manner. Naturopathic medicine is especially suited to the chronic conditions that are epidemic in our modern world, with a focus on treating the cause, balanced with delivering symptom relief.
Herbal medicine in the form of whole plants, leaves, roots and berries have been consumed by humans since prehistoric times for healing. Herbal medicine has evolved dramatically although not all herbal medicines are of the same standard. New Beginnings Naturopathy partners with and exclusively uses herbal medicines from Australia’s leading manufacturers, who are committed to producing highly effective, vigorously tested, and researched products. The final liquid, powder and tablet practitioner-grade formulations are manufactured in Australian facilities operating under the pharmaceutical ‘Good Manufacturing Practice’ (GMP), which is the same standard applied to pharmaceutical manufacturing. The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulates all herbal and nutritional products in Australia.
Nutraceuticals are nutritional based synergistic formulations that provide nutrients in specific doses developed to leverage biochemical pathways in the body based on a desired outcome. They are formulated to contain the most bioavailable forms of each nutrient to enhance absorption whilst minimising cheap and poor-quality fillers. New Beginnings Naturopathy partners with and utilises nutritional and nutraceutical practitioner-grade products from Australia’s leading manufacturers.

Australian Bush Flower Essences (ABFE) are a form of energy medicine, they are often utilised for emotional support. Flower remedies have been used by many cultures for thousands of years, you may have heard of Bach flower remedies such as rescue remedy. These flower essences were created by Edward Bach in the 1930s. New Beginnings Naturopathy chooses to use the Australian bush flower essences developed and researched by Ian White, a Naturopath and fifth generation Australian herbalist to meet the needs and issues facing people today. ABFE essences work on an emotional level helping to release negative feelings and belief patterns. ABFE are extremely safe, completely natural substances, gentle enough to use in adults and children. ABFE can be dispensed on their own or added to personalised herbal formulations.
